Is it like Wi-Fi?
Urban Wimax's technology does not compete with Wi-Fi at all – they're two very different and complementary services.
If anything, it is replacing and enhancing all the capabilities of high-end, leased line services - at a fraction of the cost and hassle of installation. That's what's so exciting about Urban Wimax for so many businesses.
A key difference between Urban Wimax service and Wi-Fi is the way they connect. Where Wi-Fi connections are commonly shared with other users, Urban Wimax provides a point-to-point wireless service.
Urban Wimax connection is symmetrical, dedicated and committed, which means you get an equal upload and download speed, all of the time, up to a whopping 10Mbps.
Also, while Wi-Fi transmits up to a few hundred meters, our technology can support businesses at ranges of up to 5 km.
